John Zajac

Executive Director + co-founder

A theatre artist and design professional with more than 15 years of experience, John co-founded Isinglass in 2012 to provide strategic problem solving services to the performing arts industry. After graduating from Oberlin College and Conservatory of Music with a double degree in Stage Directing and Opera Performance, he moved to Chicago to develop and produce original work in the city's thriving blackbox theatre scene. While there, he started his career in design and advertising, working for some of the most iconic brands in the world. 


Nate Cohen

Program Director

Nate is an actor, director, producer and activist. He is currently a Company Member and resident director at Theatre Vertigo, sits on the board of the Portland Area Theatre Alliance, and works as the master carpenter for the Portland Experimental Theatre Ensemble. Nate has filled the role of Assistant Director at Artist's Repertory Theatre, Theatre Vertigo, CoHo Productions and Third Rail Repertory Theatre. In addition to his directing work, Nate is the Associate Producer of an internationally touring production of The Gun Show. He was producer and co-writer of the Egg class of 2015's production of All’s Faire at Action/Adventure Theatre. Upcoming work in 2017 includes Maze at Theatre Vertigo, and Ceasar’s Blood in collaboration with playwright Rich Rubin. Nate is a graduate of Lewis and Clark College in Portland, OR.
